'HOW TO' WATER BAPTIZE INSTRUCTION

CAN I WATER BAPTISE ANOTHER?  HOW DO I WATER BAPTISE ANOTHER?

Yes, water baptism can be done by anyone strong in faith who has the holy spirit.  Water baptism if done at time of an infant, should be reconsidered done as an adult so that the person can submit of their own will maturely, this ensures they are going in under submission and not by admission for anyone wanting to reconfirm as an adult.  When you are out and about house planting you may find the need to do water baptism for others.

WHERE CAN WATER BAPTISM BE DONE?  Water baptism can be done in lake, ocean, stream, in your home bathtub, even at a local swimming pool.

THE PROCESS:

1.  Bring the person to water

2.  Have the appropriate baptism prayer included ready for them to speak out loud and repeat it after you, accepting Jesus.  Two (2) prayer versions are included below.  Either long or short version can be used depending on the person, some persons cannot focus on the longer version but either one contains the necessary submission of grace through faith, forgiveness and repentance, the full version is optimal and the one recommended to use when possible.

Powerful Prayer Version Establishing Your Faith Covenant and To Invite The Fire of The Holy Spirit Baptism:

"God, with you and Jesus and anyone else present including Holy Spirit as witness, I pray now in the name of Jesus, and confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and I believe in my heart Father God, that he died and was buried, that he was raised on the third day by you and you God raised Him from the dead for me to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  I am a sinner and ask forgiveness for all of my sins, and I repent for all of my sins.   Your only son being Jesus, died on the cross for me, his death and blood paid the wages for my sins, resulting in His power, authority and majesty as my Lord and Savior, my living God.  Jesus I proclaim you as my Lord and savior as I make you my Lord from this day forward, with you guiding my life and helping me to do your will.  Within this same faith also my name is to be written in the book of life, and I will see the kingdom of God.  My heartfelt love and gratitude goes to you God for your eternal gift of glory and salvation through Jesus, now bestowed on me.   Holy Spirit I ask to receive you to come upon me with your anointing and your heavenly spiritual gifts also equipping me always at the appropriate times of what is good and acceptable ongoing for my path and walk forward with my Lord Jesus doing Fathers will.  I pray this Father God in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Alternate Shorter Prayer Version To Establish Your Faith Covenant and Invite The Fire of The Holy Spirit Baptism:

"God with you and Jesus or anyone present including Holy Spirit as witness, I pray now in the name of Jesus.  I know I'm a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness and repent for all of my sins.  I believe in Jesus Christ your son and that he died and you raised Him on the third day from the dead.  This was for me to be saved and he died for my sins and paid the wages of my sins for me to now be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.   Jesus I proclaim you as my Lord and savior, my living God as I make you my Lord from this day forward, my name being written in the Lamb's book of life with you guiding my life and helping me to do your will.

Once the person is done their prayer, you my proclaim ‘I hereby baptize you in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit and they go fully under the water and then you support them back up out of the water.  Some people experience loss of balance or dizziness upon coming up from the water so support them until they are stable.

Baptismal water positions - Have the person assume the position to hold their nose and to grasp their wrist with their other hand.  While they hold this position the two persons on either side have one hand on the persons back and one hand on an elbow each for backward and upward support in and out of the water.

➢  If you encounter any oppression, manifestation encourage the person to continue their reconciliation to God stating in Jesus name I command any unclean spirit to come out and finish the baptism and any further casting out if necessary at this point in time.

➢  Normally 2 persons do the baptizing – one on each side of the person getting baptized in order to support their going completely under the water and then supporting them back up out of the water.  The going under the water completely represents the ‘death of the old man, our sin’, and when we rise out of the water with our face up towards the heavens the face of the living waters sees us, we rise in Christ spiritually.

➢  See the person exits the water area safely as a floor or pool deck or area can be slippery, have support for exiting if necessary.

Please note that children must be accompanied by a responsible adult / parent.  Some basic instructions that will help make your baptism run smoothly is if you are arriving at a destination to get your baptism done, it is best to please arrive 30 minutes before the start of the baptisms to have enough time to get ready.  If you have a larger group to be baptized having designated organizers to direct people where to wait or line up and gives time to give any detailed information sheets you may have made up to the people.

If you have rooms available, you can also have both male and female change rooms designated, and have a designated attendant who is already baptized stay with people’s belongings if need be to watch over them.  You can leave your dry clothes there and change into your baptismal clothes.

If you have a Church building for baptizing before the service begins, you can set up a reserved seating section where a seat will be reserved with your participants’ name on it so they know where to sit until they are called.

It is always a good idea when a larger baptismal is happening to have your ushers there to assist people and answer any questions ahead of time as this is a very exciting time for the new person coming to Christ and exciting for the current family members in Christ knowing Gods Kingdom is expanding fuller.

One of the most common questions asked is, “What should I wear?”  The following is a list of suggested guidelines:

➢You can ask that the person wear a dark colored, long shirt, this will avoid any wet ‘see through’ issues.  If one wishes to wear a white shirt be sure there is sufficient undergarments to avoid see through issues of any personal private areas.

➢ Your jeans, sweats or slacks should be dark and loose fitting. If wearing leggings or tights, please wear a long shirt.  Water shoes can be worn.

➢ You can wear a swim suit underneath your clothing if preferred.   Bring a dry change of clothing, and a TOWEL.

Invite family or friends to watch this glorious occasion and you can ask them or someone to record your baptism at your request as well because it is always a heart endearing special moment in time to watch later between you and God that occurred.

In church settings, often a certificate of baptism is printed in advance with the person’s name on it, and the date of their baptism to be given to them after they are done when they have pre-registered ahead of time and the church has time to prepare certificates.  Also certificates can be mailed later if one wants and this is offered but it is entirely not necessary to have a written certificate to be official with God.
